Shooter

Walter Dean Myers has broken the barrier with writing about a young, past-the-edge teen, named Len. In the story, a number of police investigators question Len's friends, Cameron and Carla. The writing is in question-answer format, telling the events leading up to, and the events during, a tragedy. The police learn through questioning, that Len was severely picked on in school, and was taking multiple drugs to suppress his anger and depression. Len, Cameron and Carla call themselves "outsiders". Basically meaning 'rebel', but with other ideals that include clothing changes, and non-conformity. Len's dad works at a firing range, and Len loved to shoot. Eventually he took Cameron and Carla there to shoot with him, and they were getting used to it too. The police came to realize that because of the trauma in the life of a young teen, actions were taken that are irreversable, and tragic.

By what i read about his review of the book, the book looks very interesting and seems like a good book. The way he described the book yet not reveal a whole lot about the actual story is luring in my opinion. I think that because of this review i might read the book.

Oh I wanna read this! It sounds sad though. Sounds like a book that I'd get mad at because it wasn't going the way I wanted it to go.

I totally agree with kinsey! It sounds great!! The story sounds awesome, but what's interesting me the most is about the format. I like when the writer decides to make a difference, changing some things we are so used to that we don't even think about it anymore. Format is one of them. The first thing I do when I wan to buy a book, is I read the text in the back to see what it is about, then I open it and go through it very quick, to see if I like the format.. But anyway, even the actual story sounds amazing too! And you did a great job in this post.

This sounds like a pretty good book. STOP SCHOOL BUULYING!! Lol. I dont agree with the fact that being an 'outsider' is being a 'rebel' because thats all wrong. Non-conformity doesn't exist in this case, or in any other case, because they both are doing it so they are conforming together... duh?

This book sounds really interesting I'd like to read this book. I don't like police people. I don't like school bulling I'm with Cassie on that one. It is wrong it makes people want to kill someone or put themselves in danger by taking drugs wanting to hurt themselves. People should ust be happy with there lives and leave other people alone.

Shooter was a psychological euphoria, especially the excerpt from Len’s journal. Saying Myers has broken a barrier would be an understatement. I’ve never read a book so psychological intense and amazingly accurate.
