Media Communications was such a good class this year. Looking back through all of my past blogs, I can see that I have learned a ton from this class. We learned about Media Literacy, photo manipulation, epic characteristics, food companies, and even war technology. By far the most interesting was the Digital Nation part, because I loved learning about new technology. My least favorite part was probably the pulitzer prize photos. I was glad that we learned about Media Literacy and how to interpret the media. Media is part of everyday life, and it is very important that we learn how to read and interpret what we see and here as far as media-wise. I don't really feel that anything should be added to the lesson plan for this class, as I feel that we had a bunch to do over the year. Overall, this was one of my favorite classes so far, and I hope more and more students continue to sign up for it. I am officially done with this class, and two days away from a Senior at Oskaloosa High! This is my final goodbye, and farewell. Peace!

Feed, by M. T. Anderson, is a fictional book set in the near future. It's about a group of teens with "feeds" implanted in their brains like everyone else, and the "feed" does everything for them. They can browse online, chat other people, make phone calls, and even play games, all without using their hands. But when a group of friends gets hacked by an old feed-hacker, one girl, Violet, starts having problems with her "feed". Violet was against everything about the feed and the corporations that controlled almost everything people did. Titus, the narrator, builds a relationship with her and learns from her. She teaches him about the hidden things that the corporations do, and about ancient languages and other stuff. But when really bad things start happening with Violet, Titus starts to panic and wants detachment from her. Violet starts seeing less of Titus, and eventually he breaks up with her and leaves. But Violet is still getting worse, and the doctors say she could die. I wont give away the end of the book, but all in all, Feed is a great book with a real theme. It opened my eyes to what our future could look like, and eventually what could happen to the world. This book sort of teaches people the direction we're headed, and tells them to think twice before advancing technology and media too far.
